Key Responsibilities
The construction department is accountable for the following functions:
1. Project Planning & Execution
Plan, coordinate, and execute construction projects from initiation to handover
Interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts
Prepare project schedules, work programs, and method statements
Coordinate with design, procurement, QA/QC, and safety teams
Risk identification and mitigation.
2. Site Management
Supervise daily construction activities at project sites
Manage site engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors
Ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and procedures
Monitor progress and resolve site-related technical issues
3. Quality Control
Ensure construction work meets quality standards and client requirements
Implement QA/QC procedures and inspections
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and snag rectification
4. Safety & Compliance
Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies
Ensure compliance with local laws, building codes, and statutory regulations
Conduct safety briefings, audits, and risk assessments
5. Cost & Schedule Control
Monitor project budgets and control costs
Track material usage, labor productivity, and equipment efficiency
Identify delays and implement corrective actions
Variation and claim management
Forecasting and cost optimization
6. Coordination & Communication
Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and government authorities
Attend progress meetings and prepare reports
Coordinate approvals, inspections, and certifications
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain site records, daily progress reports, and logs
Ensure proper documentation for billing, variations, and handover
Support project closeout and final documentation submission

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
Relevant experience in building, infrastructure, or industrial construction
Familiarity with construction software and project management tools is preferred
