The Deputy Shift Incharge role is ideal for a hands-on production professional who can support safe, efficient, and quality-focused shop floor operations. This onsite role involves managing daily production activities, monitoring yield and productivity, resolving process issues, and supporting continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety PPE requirements and maintain 5S standards on the shop floor

  • Assign daily work to shop floor operators and support team members in achieving production targets

  • Review daily yield and productivity performance against targets and take corrective measures where required

  • Handle daily quality issues, including in-house complaints, non-conformance reports, product quality verification, and immediate action for defects

  • Prepare daily production reports and verify machine, process, quality check sheets, and operation records

  • Troubleshoot production process settings and support line operations to minimise stoppage time, including working on machines when required

  • Identify daily abnormalities, record and analyse machine losses, implement FIFO, support safety and quality improvements, revise production documents, and contribute to manpower skill development

Requirements

  • Experience in production, manufacturing, shop floor operations, or related areas

  • Knowledge of safety practices, PPE compliance, 5S, FIFO, and daily production control

  • Ability to monitor yield, productivity, machine losses, and production performance against targets

  • Experience handling quality issues, non-conformance reports, product defects, and immediate corrective actions

  • Ability to verify production records, check sheets, operation records, and quality documentation

  • Practical troubleshooting skills for production processes, machine settings, and line stoppage issues

  • Strong communication and coordination skills for shift handover and issue escalation

  • Willingness to work onsite in a shift-based manufacturing environment
