The Logistics Assistant Manager role oversees end-to-end warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, shipment handling, and team performance. Working on site, the position provides hands-on operational leadership to maintain safe and efficient processes while supporting domestic and export targets.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end warehouse operations by assigning daily tasks to the relevant teams, including 5S activities, material receipt notes, cycle counting, material requirements planning relabelling, kitting, picking, packing, and dispatch
Supervise, train, and provide direct assistance to warehouse teams across loading, unloading, receiving, and inventory control activities
Lead by example to ensure that established procedures, Kaizen principles, and operational best practices are followed consistently
Maintain accurate inventory levels by leading regular physical counts and reconciling discrepancies against the warehouse inventory system
Measure and report key performance indicators and operational metrics to the operations manager each week
Oversee receiving and dispatch procedures for shipments
Monitor warehouse associates to ensure compliance with safety procedures when operating forklifts and other machinery
Ensure the achievement of fortnightly and monthly domestic and export targets
Maintain consistency between physical inventory and system records
Requirements
Experience managing or supervising warehouse and logistics operations
Knowledge of inventory control, physical stock counts, shipment receiving, and dispatch procedures
Ability to supervise and train warehouse teams while maintaining safety and operational standards
Strong coordination, reporting, and inventory reconciliation skills
