Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Purchase Planning from the automobile industry with strong expertise in supplier sourcing and vendor development. The role will be responsible for managing procurement planning, identifying reliable suppliers, optimizing sourcing strategies, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Planning & Procurement:
Develop and execute purchase planning strategies aligned with production schedules and business requirements.
Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and indirect procurement items.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and logistics teams to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Supplier Sourcing & Vendor Development:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in line with business needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term collaboration.
Lead supplier negotiations related to pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
Conduct vendor audits and performance evaluations to ensure quality, cost, and delivery compliance.
Cost Optimization:
Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, localization, and alternate vendor development.
Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier capabilities to achieve competitive pricing.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Engineering, and Finance.
Support new product development by sourcing suitable vendors for new components.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.
Maintain proper documentation related to purchase orders, contracts, and vendor records.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong experience in supplier sourcing and vendor development
In-depth knowledge of automotive components and supply chain processes
Expertise in negotiation and cost management
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
