The Sales Representative & Interpreter - Japanese Speaker role combines business development, sales coordination, customer relationship management, and Japanese-language support within a manufacturing environment. Based in Chennai, the position facilitates communication between Japanese-speaking and India-based teams and occasionally travels across India to support sales activities and interpretation assignments.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
Support business development and sales coordination activities
Provide Japanese interpretation during meetings, business visits, training sessions, and other official communications
Translate business documents, emails, presentations, reports, and technical documents
Support communication between Japanese-speaking and India-based teams
Travel across India as required to support sales activities and interpretation assignments
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Japanese Language, or a related field
Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 certification or above
Japanese interpretation and translation skills
Sales and customer relationship management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience in business-to-business sales or the manufacturing industry will be an advantage
