The Senior Production Engineer role is responsible for coordinating manufacturing activities, maintaining quality standards, and improving shop-floor performance. The position combines production planning, robotic welding, defect analysis, team coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Coordinate manpower and production teams to support the achievement of organisational goals
Prepare monthly production plans and monitor and schedule manufacturing activities to meet production targets
Implement quality fundamentals and standards to maintain zero parts per million defects
Manage robotic welding operations and associated quality control activities
Analyse defects and scrap, identify underlying issues, and implement temporary and permanent corrective actions
Lead and participate in Kaizen activities with team members to support continuous improvement
Drive scrap and rework reduction initiatives to minimise the Cost of Poor Quality
Implement work-balancing Kaizen initiatives to improve productivity and operational efficiency
Promote continuous improvement across daily production activities and support effective team building
Prepare and maintain work instructions and standard operating procedures
Implement 5S practices and waste reduction initiatives to maintain a safe and efficient shop-floor environment
Requirements
Experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, and team coordination
Hands-on experience in robotic welding processes and quality control
Strong knowledge of defect analysis, corrective actions, Kaizen, and Cost of Poor Quality reduction
Experience preparing and maintaining work instructions and standard operating procedures
Good problem-solving, leadership, and team coordination skills
