The Senior Engineer Warehouse Automation role supports warehouse and shop-floor automation through the installation, operation, and maintenance of material-handling equipment. This onsite position covers project execution, commissioning, fleet operations, systems integration, equipment automation, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Vendor coordination: Track deliverables, including layouts, navigation, fleet manager configuration, charging, and safety requirements, while ensuring agreed timelines and quality standards are met
Project execution: Support site readiness, floor and path setup, network and Wi-Fi checks, safety device installation, trials, and validations
Commissioning & testing: Participate in the required acceptance tests and verify missions, docking accuracy, obstacle handling, and system stability
Post-implementation operations: Monitor the fleet, manage missions and task queues, resolve blockages, analyse errors and logs, and support equipment uptime
Integration support: Coordinate with IT teams and vendors on interfaces and integration activities
Safety & compliance: Adhere to safety requirements and perform routine checks on scanners, emergency stops, and bumpers
Training & documentation: Create standard operating procedures and one-point lessons, and maintain as-built documents and test records
Programme programmable logic controllers for equipment automation and troubleshooting
Implement Kaizen initiatives to improve quality and cycle time
Attend to equipment breakdowns and implement corrective and preventive actions
Prepare scheduled maintenance reports and monthly breakdown reports, including why-why analysis
Monitor spare parts
Maintain confidentiality when handling technology and confidential designs
Requirements
Experience in warehouse or shop-floor automation and material-handling equipment
Ability to support equipment installation, operation, maintenance, commissioning, and testing
Ability to programme programmable logic controllers for equipment automation and troubleshooting
Ability to analyse equipment errors and logs and address operational blockages
Understanding of automation safety devices and routine safety checks
Ability to prepare technical documentation, maintenance reports, and breakdown analyses
Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and IT teams
Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of technology and design information
