The Senior Executive - Production Planning and Control role is a great fit for a production planning professional with experience in manufacturing operations, inventory coordination, and production progress management. Based onsite in Chennai, this role involves working closely with local teams and stakeholders in Japan to support efficient production plans, material availability, and on-time delivery performance.
Responsibilities
Develop mid- to long-term production strategies and monthly production plans in alignment with the Production Management Department in Japan
Monitor daily and weekly production progress, identify gaps, and implement recovery actions to address delays
Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams on material planning and inventory management to avoid shortages and excess stock
Improve production efficiency by optimising shop-floor coordination, production instructions, and workflow processes
Analyse and report key production performance metrics to stakeholders in Japan on a regular basis
Support the implementation of production management practices such as 5S, Just-in-Time, and visual management, including training for local teams
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in production management or production process management within a manufacturing environment
Experience working with or supporting overseas teams or factories, preferably in cross-cultural settings
Hands-on experience with ERP systems for production planning, inventory management, and progress tracking
Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills for working with local and international stakeholders
Business-level English proficiency, with TOEIC 700 or equivalent preferred
