The Assistant Manager - PQE Press and Weld role is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional to contribute to press and welding component quality within a manufacturing environment. This onsite role in Chennai will involve working closely with suppliers, supporting new model quality activities, and driving continuous improvement across supplier processes.
Responsibilities
Ensure quality assurance for press and welding components to support consistent manufacturing standards.
Participate in new model quality activities, helping to strengthen quality readiness and launch preparation.
Conduct feasibility studies and drawing reviews with suppliers to support effective component development.
Lead gauge concept reviews and quality planning approvals.
Perform supplier process audits and validations to ensure process capability and compliance.
Manage quality issues, follow up on improvement actions, and support timely resolution.
Drive continuous improvement in supplier processes to enhance overall quality performance.
Requirements
Experience or strong working knowledge in quality assurance for press and welding components.
Ability to participate in new model quality activities within a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of feasibility reviews, drawing reviews, gauge concepts, and quality planning.
Experience conducting supplier process audits, validations, or supplier quality assessments.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage quality issues and improvement actions.
Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Continuous improvement mindset with attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
