Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
Maintain books of accounts and general ledger entries
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Perform bank reconciliations and track cash flow
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing
Payroll and Employee-related Tasks
Process employee payroll accurately and on time
Prepare payslips and maintain payroll records
Handle statutory deductions and related documentation, where applicable
Tax and Compliance
Calculate, file, and pay TDS
Support GST-related processes, where applicable
Ensure adherence to statutory and tax compliance requirements in India
External Partner Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact for accounting consulting firms
Support audit and tax filing processes
Prepare and provide necessary financial documents
Process Improvement
Establish and improve accounting workflows and systems
Contribute to building scalable finance processes in a startup environment
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in accounting or finance
Practical experience in maintaining books of accounts and general ledger entries
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and financial closing processes
Experience in payroll processing and payroll record maintenance
Understanding of TDS and statutory compliance requirements in India
Familiarity with GST-related processes is an advantage
Ability to coordinate effectively with external accounting, audit, and tax partners
Comfortable working onsite in East Bangalore
