The Logistics Coordinator role offers the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of international shipments across air and sea freight operations. This role is ideal for candidates with strong India–US lane experience who can manage documentation, vendor coordination, compliance, and delivery performance across multiple stakeholders and time zones.
Responsibilities
Air Freight:
Book and manage air freight from origin in India to consignees in the US, serving as the single point of contact from booking through delivery
Prepare and verify documentation, including master and house air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, dangerous goods declarations where applicable, and US-side ISF filings
Select between IATA-rated forwarders and direct airline contracts based on cost, transit time, and reliability, while coordinating across airlines, forwarders, and customs brokers
Anticipate and resolve disruptions such as space rejections, weight and manifest discrepancies, customs query letters at origin, and CBP examination holds at destination
Manage spot and contract rates, maintain a rate comparison log, and plan around GRI cycles and peak-season surcharges
Sea Freight:
Coordinate sea exports from India end to end, from factory or CFS pick-up through US port delivery, across both FCL and LCL
Manage VGM certification, container stuffing and sealing, SI cut-offs, and bill of lading issuance, including telex release and original BL
Oversee US customs entry and ISF 10+2, and support ADD / CVD matters where relevant
India Export Coordination:
Prepare and verify Indian export documentation, file or supervise Shipping Bills on ICEGATE, and track Let Export Order issuance
Manage IEC, AD Code, and DGFT-related filings, along with RoDTEP, duty drawback, and related incentive claims
Build and manage direct relationships with CHAs, freight forwarders, and NVOCCs, and resolve port conflicts, missed vessel cut-offs, and unresponsive vendors through timely escalation
Work fluently with India ports and air cargo terminals such as IGI Airport, JNPT, and Nhava Sheva
US Domestic / Last-Mile Delivery:
Manage delivery after US customs clearance to warehouses, retailers, or end customers
Coordinate drayage providers, 3PLs, and direct carriers, including LTL versus FTL decisions, NMFC classification, carrier selection, and proof-of-delivery collection
Meet major retailer inbound compliance requirements, including routing requests, RA numbers, and prepaid versus collect freight
Systems, Reporting & Cross-Time-Zone Coordination:
Maintain real-time visibility across all open shipments using trackers, shared logs, and automated alerts, keeping management informed consistently
Work across TMS and ERP platforms and forwarder portals, using Excel and Google Sheets for data management and reporting
Coordinate effectively across US and India time zones, with clear overnight handovers and disciplined asynchronous communication
Requirements
Proven coordination experience as a logistics coordinator or freight executive with genuine end-to-end shipment ownership
Hands-on air freight experience, ideally in an air-dominant operation, including time-sensitive or high-value cargo
Direct experience coordinating India–US shipments, with familiarity across India export documentation and US import compliance
Working knowledge of FCL and LCL, VGM, bill of lading processes, and ISF 10+2
Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, with confidence using forwarder portals and shipment tracking systems
Excellent vendor management and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to work independently across time zones
Experience with Indian export incentives such as RoDTEP and duty drawback will be an advantage
Experience in US domestic last-mile delivery and major retailer compliance, including Amazon FBA and Walmart, will be an advantage
Exposure to ADD and CVD matters on US imports will be an advantage
Established direct relationships with carriers, CHAs, and freight forwarders will be an advantage
Strong ownership and accountability
Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem solving under pressure
Commercial awareness in relation to rates, routing, and operational trade-offs
Disciplined reporting and stakeholder communication skills
Calm and assertive escalation and vendor management capability
