Job Description -
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Continuously monitor machining operations (e.g., CNC, lathes, mills) to ensure processes are running within specifications.
Perform in-process inspections using various measuring tools (micrometres, callipers, height gauges, CMMs) to verify that parts meet dimensional, geometric, and surface finish requirements.
Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other methods to analyse process data, identify trends, and predict potential quality issues before they affect the product.
Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues, prevent recurrence, and improve machining operations.
Ensure that tool setups, speeds, feeds, and other machine parameters are optimized to reduce scrap and improve product quality.
Focus on minimizing variability in machining processes through adjustments to equipment or processes, ensuring consistent quality.
Collaborate with machine operators and maintenance technicians to ensure correct setups and timely identification of potential issues.
Generate and communicate regular quality reports, including statistical analysis, nonconformance data, and performance metrics.
Document any nonconforming products or processes and initiate the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process to address and resolve these issues.
Ensure that machining processes are in compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., IATF-16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific standards).
