The Sales Manager role leads the sales team and manages corporate sales to automotive original equipment manufacturers in India. The position drives new customer and business development, oversees opportunities through to mass production, and develops medium- to long-term sales plans for existing clutch components and new electric vehicle-related products.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a 10-member sales team
Manage corporate sales activities for automotive original equipment manufacturers in India
Develop new customers and business opportunities for existing and new products
Handle new business enquiries and coordinate basic business agreements with new customers in English
Review costs and estimates, confirm commercial details, and negotiate terms with customers
Manage project progress from the initial enquiry through to the start of mass production
Plan and execute medium- to long-term sales plans and strategies
Coordinate in English with relevant departments at the company’s headquarters in Japan
Train and support sales team members
Provide regular performance and activity reports to the head of department
Undertake business travel, mainly within India, for client visits and meetings
Requirements
Diploma in a mechanical or engineering discipline
More than 7 years of relevant experience
Experience managing corporate sales within the automotive original equipment manufacturer market
Experience leading and developing a sales team
Ability to manage new customer acquisition, commercial negotiations, cost reviews, and business agreements
English communication skills for coordination with customers and headquarters in Japan
Ability to travel for client visits and meetings, mainly within India
Experience working in a Japanese corporate environment is preferred
