Main Responsibilities
Participate in APC projects and service at customer sites
Utilize company's software to design, configure, tune, commission, and maintain advanced process control solutions for the Recovery Boiler & Power Boiler areas of the mill.
On site coordination for the company activities to implement and support APC applications.
Recommend control modifications and operational changes to maximize mill performance.
Coordinate activities with customer staff and provide APC training.
Analyze process and control data using company's software and other tools.
Contribute to the development of technologies and APC applications.
Generates monthly reports to summarize application performance and ongoing service activities.
Generates documentation and training material that clearly describes the modifications made to APC applications and the functionality of the applications.
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and respect.
Job Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Chemical, Pulp and Paper, or Bioresource Engineering. Master’s degree, PhD, or process control specialization an asset.
5+ years working in the Pulp and Paper industry or Processing industry.
Paper Machine Experience an asset.
Model predictive control and real time optimization experience.
Process performance analysis, troubleshooting and optimization.
Process operations, engineering, and maintenance experience.
Distributed control systems and plant information systems.
