Role Summary
The Assistant Manager – Design & Simulation will oversee equipment design, simulation activities, and support production engineering and maintenance teams. The role requires strong CAD expertise, Japanese OEM project exposure, and effective coordination with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years in design, simulation, BIW automation, and equipment engineering.
- B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical, Automotive, Production, or relevant fields).
Principal Responsibilities
- Handle equipment design and simulation with focus on feasibility and manufacturability.
- Work on projects with MSIL, TKM, including BIW automation and production engineering.
- Conduct Design DAP reviews and ensure quality, safety, and manufacturability standards.
- Coordinate with production engineering for layouts, trials, and improvements.
- Travel within India/Japan as required.
Key Competencies
- Strong CAD skills (CATIA/UG, AutoCAD).
- Ability to interpret technical documents (spec sheets, RFQs, kick‑off documents, OEM standards).
- Proficient in 3D/2D design, BOP creation, and FEA understanding.
- Knowledge of layout marking, ergonomics, and cycle‑time estimation.
