Purpose
To ensure smooth and efficient assembly line operations by developing, implementing, and continuously improving assembly processes, tools, and methods, thereby enhancing productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of assembly line processes and industrial engineering concepts.
- Team handling and leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience with assembly jigs, fixtures, tooling, and line balancing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and TPM practices.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD / CATIA or similar design tools.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize assembly processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for assembly operations.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity planning for assembly lines.
- Implement cost reduction activities through process improvement and automation.
- Support new model assembly line preparation, trials, and mass production setup.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams for process improvements and issue resolution.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and ergonomic guidelines in assembly operations.
- Drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S).
Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of motorcycle/automobile assembly processes.
- Understanding of quality systems (ISO/TS standards).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools (QC tools, Why-Why analysis, FMEA).
