(incl. possibility that the Company orders to move to Mumbai after the employment)
Experience: min. 10-15 years of commercial business experience in pharmaceutical business, as aforementioned in the part of “Essential Requirement”
 
Essentials Requirement:
• Postgraduate – Pharmacy (or Chemical Science (MSc Chemistry) as 2nd best)
• Min. 10-15 years of Commercial Business Experience in Pharmaceutical business - Handling Pharma Intermediates, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Contract manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, International Trading Business of Pharmaceutical products
• Deep experience in the business with Japanese pharmaceutical companies
 
Skills Requirement:
Target Profile is the experienced manager, who, by himself/herself, can develop New Suppliers in India for accelerating export business of pharmaceutical products, to Summit Pharmaceuticals International (Japanese company, dedicated for pharmaceutical business, 100% subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation), who receives the inquiries from various Japanese major R&D Pharmaceutical companies and Japanese Generic Pharmaceutical companies.
Foe such Target Profile required skills can be.
• [Regulatory Knowledge] In-depth knowledge & deep understanding about Pharmaceutical Business & International Trading, especially to Japan & other regulated markets, including the knowledge about Good Manufacturing Practice and so on.
• [Audit Experience] Experience of attendance to overseas pharmaceutical companies to Indian suppliers, including regulatory audits.
• [New Development] Good experience to create new business with new Indian suppliers, in accordance with not only by organization targets but also by proactively setting up individual targets by himself/herself, without just waiting for the company’s order in passive manner.
• [Leadership] Lead projects and take accountability for developing new projects and for following on-going business.
• [Market Knowledge] Knowledge required for an expert, about Suppliers, Products, potential Competitors etc. in India.
• [Analytical Skills] Skills to find the required procedures and actions to be taken by himself/herself, to develop new business, by analyzing the track business record in house (owned by company and Summit Pharmaceuticals International), market information or personal network.
• [Communication Skills] Skills, not only to communicate with new faces of new Indian suppliers but also to smoothly communicate with Japanese from, not only group companies (Summit Pharmaceuticals International) but also the client (Japanese Pharmaceutical companies)
• [International Experience] Business trip can be required, especially to Japan, for important mission to negotiate difficult commercial issues, solve critical quality trouble issues, directly with the clients (Japanese Pharmaceutical companies), representing company. Participation to International Conference in Japan or Europe can be also requested, for managing a number of commercial meetings there, representing Sumitomo Corporation India too.
• [Negotiation Skills] Skills for hard negotiation can be needed, to calm down difficult Indian suppliers to realize the new business, on the side to support the client's side (Japanese Pharmaceutical companies).
• [Proficiency] All the Microsoft tools, mainly Excel, PowerPoint for preparing presentation materials, business proposals, suggesting new development ideas, by himself/herself.
• [Preferred Character] Confident and self-motivated person, who can work independently with minimal guidance, while can support others as a part of team.
 
Job Role:
• Report to Deputy General Manager of Life Science Dept, in Chennai Office
• Day-to-day close communications (under supervised by Deputy General Manager (among Summit Pharmaceuticals International and Indian Manufacturers/Suppliers for Pharmaceutical Products (so called, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Pharmaceutical Intermediates), Contract Manufacturing Organizations for Pharmaceutical Intermediates.
• Attendance with Japanese Pharmaceutical companies for commercial meeting with to the Plant/Laboratory of Indian Manufacturers/Suppliers, and also for auditing to them, by translating highly specific technical terms in pharmaceutical business into English for the visitors from Japanese Pharmaceutical companies.
• Being engaged in preparing Budget of Sales, Gross Trading Profit, monitoring those monthly, and studying how to increase Gross Trading Profit as well with Deputy General Manager of Chennai Office.
• Represent company, at Industry Events, Conferences and commercial meetings there.
• Develop new business, by using the personal skill, experience, relations/ network with Indian Manufacturers/Suppliers, in addition to follow the instructions by Deputy General Manager
• Support and follow Deputy General Manager by transparent and open communications to her and then for Life Science Dept of Sumitomo Corporation India, to upgrade the quality-of-Life Science Dept in Chennai and Mumbai, by introducing his or her special skills, experience, personal relations/network with Indian Manufacturers/Suppliers.
• Manage and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during business development activities, with support by Deputy General Manager (Ms. Deepa) in case it is needed.
• Collect and provide market information, such as any information (financial, personnel, products, customers relations) of target Indian Manufacturers/Suppliers for new development, with or without related to the current business of Life Science Dept, Competitors Information, to report/share to Deputy General Manager, to utilize such information to study for improving Gross Trading Profit of Chennai Office/Life Science Dept.
