Position: Technical Support Engineer OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods)
Location: Delhi/Mumbai
Frequent travel to domestic and overseas oilfield and manufacturing sites required.

Job Summary:
The Technical Support Engineer – OCTG will serve as a critical interface between global OCTG manufacturing/engineering teams (primarily based in Japan, Singapore, USA, and UAE) and customers in India, including national oil companies, private operators, and oilfield service providers. The role also involves supporting Indian OCTG manufacturers in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with international technical standards. This is a field-facing and technically demanding position requiring strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to travel frequently to oilfield and manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the local technical liaison for global OCTG engineering and manufacturing teams, ensuring effective knowledge transfer to Indian stakeholders.
Promote OCTG products and solutions to Indian oil & gas operators and drilling service companies through technical presentations, product briefings, and site visits.
Support technical evaluation and qualification processes during tendering, including responding to specifications, preparing technical documents, and participating in clarification meetings.
Provide technical support during product usage, including issue diagnosis, field failure analysis coordination, and performance feedback gathering.
Assist Indian OCTG manufacturers in implementing and maintaining quality assurance systems aligned with international standards, customer requirements and technical package from technology licensers.
Coordinate product inspections, mill audits, and document reviews with both internal and third-party stakeholders.
Interpret and convey technical feedback between Indian clients and overseas manufacturing teams to align expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.
Prepare and review technical documents, test certificates, deviation reports, and other quality-related documentation.
Maintain strong working relationships with customer technical teams and ensure alignment with project timelines and technical specifications.
Support internal reporting and knowledge documentation for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field.
3–5 years of experience in OCTG manufacturing, oilfield operations, or tubular product engineering.
Familiarity with API 5CT, premium connections, and field running practices preferred.
High proficiency in English with clear, internationally understandable pronunciation.
Hindi as mother tongue and ability to communicate effectively with Indian field personnel and domestic manufacturers.
Strong document drafting and technical reporting skills.
Excellent numerical ability for interpreting test results, tolerance specs, and quality data.
High adaptability to bridge cultural gaps between Indian clients and overseas stakeholders.
Ability to travel frequently to drilling sites, inspection yards, and manufacturing mills within India and internationally.
Hands-on, proactive, and quality-focused approach to technical engagement and field support.
