Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize welding processes to enhance productivity and ensure high-quality welds.
- Program and troubleshoot robotic welding systems, ensuring seamless PLC integration.
- Design and implement welding jigs and fixtures for both current production and new model launches.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for welding operations.
- Plan and execute trials for new welding equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
- Support new model development by preparing welding process layouts and conducting validations.
- Analyze welding defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and R&D teams to resolve welding-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and ergonomic practices in welding operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, TPM, and 5S.
Technical Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes, parameters, and metallurgy.
- Proficient in robotic welding programming, PLC integration, and automation systems.
- Strong grasp of welding jig and fixture design principles and execution.
- Familiar with quality tools such as Why-Why Analysis, FMEA, and QC Tools.
- Understanding of ISO/TS standards relevant to welding operations.
Core Skills
- Expertise in welding processes: MIG, TIG, Spot, Projection, and Robotic Welding.
- Proficient in robot programming with working knowledge of PLCs, especially for robot cabins.
- Skilled in welding jig and fixture design, development, and execution.
- Hands-on experience in welding fixture/jig maintenance and parameter optimization.
- Familiar with weld quality inspection techniques including NDT, visual inspection, and destructive testing.
- Solid understanding of welding standards, metallurgy, and basic heat treatment processes.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
