Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automotive applications.
- Create and manage detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA and AutoCAD.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, assembly manuals, and design reports.
- Select appropriate materials for automotive components based on performance and cost.
- Apply GD&T principles and conduct DFMEA to ensure robust design.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams to refine and validate designs.
- Troubleshoot design issues, implement corrective actions, and resolve failures.
- Drive Kaizen, VA/VE, and cost optimization initiatives for new and existing products.
- Ensure compliance with IMDS and IATF 16949 system requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in CATIA, AutoCAD, and other CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of automotive materials and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with DFMEA, GD&T, and design validation.
- Familiarity with IMDS and IATF 16949 standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
