Educational Qualification:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred.
Working Days : Monday-Saturday

The Tax Manager in a manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting. This role involves ensuring the company's tax obligations are met efficiently and accurately while identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax strategies. The Tax Manager works closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax authorities to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Compliance: Manage the preparation and filing of all required tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings. Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax-related documents.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements and tax disclosures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to accurately report tax information in financial statements.
  • Tax Research: Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's tax obligations or opportunities. Conduct research and analysis to assess the potential impact of tax law changes on the company's operations.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Coordinate with external auditors and legal counsel to respond to audit requests and resolve any tax-related issues.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting. Implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of tax-related transactions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, accounting, legal, and other departments to address tax-related issues and support business initiatives. Provide tax guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Tax Risk Management: Identify and assess tax risks associated with the company's operations and business activities. Develop strategies to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
  • Experience with tax software and accounting systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
