An experienced, technically oriented Pulp and Paper Process & Control Specialist would be required to:
• Have solid, relevant experience in Control and Advanced Controls within the Pulp and Paper Industry.
• Execute the company sales strategy in South Asia (SA) / Southeast Asia (SEA), working with both customers and channel partners.
• Provide specialist support in the sales process for Control and Advanced Control (APC) projects.
• Analyse process and control data using company specialist software and other tools.
• Plan, coordinate, execute and follow pilots/trials, surveys and services that support the business proposal to ensure sales conversion.
• Participate in the design of control solutions in SA / SEA in conjunction with the global control group.
• Be accountable for the execution of control projects including the project schedule, setup, commissioning, performance validation and acceptance of company Control Solutions in SA /SEA.
• Be accountable for communicating plans, progress, and performance to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide troubleshooting, application, and on-site service support for existing installations.
• Recommend control modifications and operational changes to maximize mill performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and establishment of best practices within company.
• Generate monthly reports to summarize application performance and ongoing service activities.
• Participate as a team member or in managing larger regional projects as assigned.
• Provide outstanding service to customers, supported by the global team.
Performance in the role will be primarily assessed against the quality of technical support and communication with customers delivered, as well as sales targets. Extensive local travel and international travel expected. Specialized training will be provided both within India and abroad. Support from local, regional and global technical teams will be available.
 
Competencies required:
• Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical / Pulp and Paper Technology / Control) or equivalent
• 5-7 years’ experience relevant experience, with a particular focus on Advanced Controls / Analytics within the Pulp and Paper industries.
• The ability to work with different cultures.
• Strong programming, computer networking, data analytics skills.
• Complex troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to function in, or lead as assigned, multi-functional project teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong skills in managing projects independently.
• The ability to work with minimal supervision.
• The ability to work co-operatively and constructively with team members and customers globally and regionally.
• A positive outlook and commitment to maintaining a strong team culture.
• A commitment to successfully complete assignments.
 
Supervisory responsibilities:
• As the business grows, resources may be added.
• May lead project teams as assigned.
